Yesterday at Restore, we did a stand alone week talking about "A Grateful People." It was an incredible day of celebration as we shared the total of our Haiti offering, $65,000 from Restore and the matching funds of $25,000 for a total $90,000. This unbelievable generosity will help start a church in Cavaillon, build a facility that will seat 800 people, and build two orphan homes for 90 kids. This church in Haiti will literally help thousands of people and hundreds of orphans find their way back to God. I am honored and humbled to be part of such a missional group of people.
What made the day even more special was the fact that we had planned for five baptisms as part of the morning services. We worshipped together in the gym (out of the auditorium for three weeks) and then all went over together to the Aquatic Center for the baptisms. As part of the worship time, we asked anyone present if they wanted to take this step and join these five in going public with their faith. At each service one person decided to make that decision. Devon and Jackie joined Kathleen, Sharon, Kelly, Darin and Caleb in the pool. What and awesome day.
