Today we began a new saga in the McMahon family. Our one and only daughter, Judiann joined the ranks of athletes. She donned her cleats, shin guards, and soccer uniform and played her very first soccer game for the YMCA "Fireballs".
She was excited and nervous on our way to the game, since they only had one practice due to all the rain. She kept asking all types of questions about positions and game play. She so wants to do everything right and be the best. I have no idea where she gets that from.
She started playing forward and it took her a while to get comfortable and than began to move the ball well. Unfortunately during the first half, her team gave up 3 unanswered goals.
The second half was a completely different game. Her team found their rhythm and Judiann played on the defensive end. They held the other team scoreless and made three goals, the last with one minute remaining. Judiann was very aggressive on defensive and wasn't going to let a ball get by her. And the game ended a 3-3 tie.
I was a very proud soccer dad.
Go Judi!!!!
