I am incredibly proud of the entire Restore family. We just completed our third Replenish and collected 134 grocery bags full of school supplies for under resourced families in the Park Hill School District.
On July 31st, 46 Restore attenders went door to door in 15 neighborhoods to ask Northlanders to partner with Restore to assist under resourced families in the Park Hill School district by purchasing school supplies. We went to 600 homes and handed out around 200 bags. On Saturday Aug 9th we went back to collect those bags. We picked up around 65 or 1/3 of the bags we handed out, which was about the same as our previous collection.
Today at weekend services, Restore attenders exceeded that with another 70 bags full of supplies. Sue Ann Boyd, a teacher in the district and Restore attender, said that this quantity of supplies exceeded expectations. What was also so cool was one of the bags we picked up had this note on it.
"We wish this special little girl a joyful and blessed school year." (The Jackson family)
There is going to be some really excited young children come this Wednesday.
