Over the past decade, I have had the chance to work closely with many very talented people. One of the most gifted leaders I have worked closely with is Janet McMahon.
I have watched her build a team of staff and volunteers for children's ministry that broke new ground by going multisite nearly 10 years ago.
I have watched her lead a support and recovery ministry that reproduced from one location to three, from one night a week to groups meeting nearly every night of the week and addressing issues from marriage to divorce to addictions to grief and just about everywhere in between.
I also watched as she focused on reproducing neighborhood small groups by creating a solid coaching structure and apprenticeship development. In the midst of this she and her good friend, Tammy Melchien, wrote a great Coaching Handbook with six coaching questions. I use these daily with my staff team and leaders.
And now I am watching as she is expanding her leadership at Restore. She is the Community Director providing overall leadership for adults, students, and children. She is one of the best leaders I know at addressing conflict and working toward mutual resolution. She has been a catalyst for releasing unbelievable potential in so many young leaders. I can't wait to see how God utilizes her gifts and passion to change the spiritual landscape of KC.
By the way...she has also been my wife for 21 years. Oh I am blessed.

And to think that that's my "baby girl" sitting there with that sweet smile on her face! We knew she was on to something big when the first song she learned to sing was "Yankee Doodle" - no kidding - you'd of thought is would have been "Jesus Loves Me" or "Jesus Love the Little Children." Those came later - #1 was Yankee Doodle! She makes me proud and teary eyed! You are right we are blessed!

Janet is definitely awesome! I remember meeting Janet when I first interviewed for my first job at CCC back in late 1999. (I think she was pregnant with Judy Ann at the time.) She was one of the people I really connected with during the interview process. Every conversation I've had with both you and Janet always leaves me feeling valued and listened to. You guys have the magic relational touch. So thanks!

Janet taught the Turbo class for small group leaders that I attended. She was motivating and inspiring!
She has been a real blessing in my life and I miss her bunches!
Yes Troy, you are blessed.
