Yesterday at Restore, Janet and I got the chance to do the message together. It was great fun. We did a recap of this past year and the many God Things that we have witnessed at Restore. 2008 will be forever marked in my mind. Nate put this video montage together which gives the highlights from our video vault. I am so excited to see what God has in store for 2009.
The staff of Restore also got the chance to say Thank You via video. Enjoy.
Saturday we celebrated our December Leadership Community with a grand leader celebration. We love our leaders at Restore and they do an amazing job. Our staff pulled out the stops and served up breakfast for 65+ leaders and then shared great wins of the past year.
Denise Dietrich went over the top with the decorations and made our simple offices incredibly festive. We gave each of our leaders a gift...a Restore sweatshirt. Our staff modeled these as we served.
I cannot say THANK YOU enough to the passionate, gifted and committed leaders at Restore. You are absolutely focused on 'helping people find their way back to God.'
Last night was an incredible night for a son, his parents and so many others. It was 17 months ago when we moved from Naperville, IL to Kansas City, MO to begin the process to launch Restore Community Church. As a parent you wonder how your kids will adjust to a move, particularly when your oldest son will begin his junior year in high school.
Jake has made an amazing adjustment to life in KC. He has led his brother, Mitch, and sister, Judiann, in this adventure. He has been highly involved at Restore in the arts, student ministry and wherever he is needed.
Last night as he competed for Mr. Park Hill representing the FCA club, he boldly proclaimed his faith in the club skit and talent portions of the program and he was amazing in the swimsuit competition and dance sections. I know my faith wasn't as strong as his at this age. He also involved both Mitch and Judiann in the show. What a brother.
As they announced the winner, I was overcome with the emotion of a very proud dad. God is so good. I guess he has adjusted to his new school.
